About Me

I’m Karlee, the heart and creative mind behind Milly Kane Photography. I started this little business in May 2017—how time has flown! While I often get called Milly, the name “Milly Kane” comes from my family tree and holds special meaning for me.

My photography is all about capturing the beauty of the great outdoors, natural light, and the connections that make families special. I believe in keeping things real—overly edited images just aren’t my style.

At home, I’m surrounded by my husband, our two children, two budgies, a fish, our dog Diesel, and an ever-growing collection of indoor plants and books!

What to expect

I believe in authentic photography. I don’t use Photoshop to alter body shapes—I want to celebrate you just as you are. That said, I’m more than happy to remove the odd fly in summer! My goal is to pose you in a way that highlights your best features while keeping things natural and relaxed.

Before your session, I’ll send you a contract and model release form, which must be signed ahead of time. You’ll also receive a styling guide with tips to help you coordinate outfits. If you need help with wardrobe choices, I’m just a message away!

I also have a collection of vintage props, including trikes, rocking horses, wooden boxes, and more. For maternity and newborn sessions, I have beautiful maternity gowns, bassinets, swaddles, and other carefully selected pieces.

The day of

On the day, I strive to keep things fun and relaxed for both kids and adults. A photo session should be an enjoyable experience—something your little ones look forward to, not dread.

If possible, try to have the kids well-rested and fed beforehand, as this helps create a calm, happy atmosphere. But don’t stress if things don’t go perfectly—I focus on capturing genuine moments and connections. If a little one needs a break, we simply go with the flow.

Photography should never feel stressful. I want this to be a special time for your family—soaking in the scenery, making memories, and having fun along the way.

Because I shoot outdoors, we’re always at the mercy of Mother Nature! If the weather isn’t ideal, we can reschedule—I usually make this call the day before at the earliest, as forecasts can change quickly.

Best time for our session and location choices

Sunraysia is full of breathtaking locations, and I’m always on the lookout for new hidden gems. If there’s a place that holds meaning for your family, I’d love to incorporate it into your session!

The best times for outdoor photography are early morning and late afternoon, when the light is soft and golden. Some locations work better in the morning, while others shine at sunset—I’ll help guide you on what suits your vision best.

If these times aren’t ideal for your little ones, I know of shaded locations that work well throughout the day. We’ll discuss all options once your session is booked.

After your session

Within 48 hours, I’ll share a sneak peek on social media (if requested and if a model release is signed). Your full online gallery will be ready within ten days. From there, you can select images for prints and digital downloads.

I work with a local pro lab to ensure top-quality prints, which take about 4–5 weeks to be ready for collection at Casual Collections, once you place your order. Digital images are typically available within ten days of ordering.

There’s something truly special about holding your memories in print and displaying them at home—it brings your photos to life in a way that digital files simply can’t!

That’s me and my business

Photography is personal, and my style may not be for everyone. But if my dreamy, nature-inspired approach speaks to you, I’d love to chat!

Our first step will be selecting a date and time for your session. A $50 deposit secures your booking, and you’re welcome to ask as many questions as you like—there’s no such thing as a silly question! I’ll also confirm your session a few days before we meet.
